I breed for myself.
Not only to win shows, but to continue the sport I love and the legacy of the dogs I raise. There may be puppies
that may not fit my training or breeding goals, and will be available to loving homes.
All of my dogs are home raised. They spent 75% of there time,
in my house. I never have more dogs than I can personally attend. Each dog has play time with eachother and with me
alone.
Dogs are screened for illnesses and hereditary diseases.
I recommend a minimun vaccination protocol, as outlined by the study at Cornell University.
Puppies will come with initial vaccinations, pedigree, puppy pack and a three
year health guarentee against hereditary defects.
I plan litters very carefully. I have waited five years to
pick a foundation female, and I will wait another year and a half until she is mature, tested for genetic diseases and passes
OFA x ray for hips. I have research pedigrees for the best producing lines. I'm not looking for the most
popular, flashiest stud. I want a healthy sire, from strong producing lines .
Please fill out the puppy interest form if you are looking for
a dog. No funds are necessary to be placed on the notification list. You can
use the puppy form to let me know your needs. If I don't have any puppies, I can refer you to many reputable breeders.
When a litter is planned, you will be notified, and given
the opportunity to place a deposite on a pup. Puppy deposits are $200, with the balance due when you pick
up your puppy. The deposit is non refundable, but it is transferable to future litters.
What's the difference? Pet vs Show
Pet quality dogs are defined as ones that do not have that special something, that would make them
excel in the conformation ring. Perhaps they are missing a tooth, or not big enough, too much white on the body, not
enough color, etc. They will make soemone a handsome companion, but should not be considered to further the breed.
Show quality dogs have that special something, and have no disqualifying faults in their respective breeds. There
are dogs that are showable, but are not top quality show dogs, that can add something to the breed genetically, and fall under
the category of breedable dogs also.
How much for that puppy in the window?
Pet puppy prices start at $700 and are not sold until at least eight weeks old.
Pet/Companion pups are sold with limited registration and no breeding rights. You may think that breeders do that just
because they don't want the competition. No, it's because they don't want you breeding a dog that is not the best possible specimen
of the breed. Sometimes papers may be withheld or co ownership required until the puppy is neutered/spayed.
Show quality puppies start at $900 and will be kept here for evaluation until at
least 4 mos old. Show pups are sold with full registration, with co-ownership to those new to showing. I have no problem
selling show quality puppies to pet owners, as I am looking for the best possible home for my puppies. However, show
quality pups sold to pet homes will receive limited registration and no breeding rights. If you are serious about breeding,
learn about the breed, attend dog shows, and find a good mentor to help you out.
Know now that you are not going to get a pet quality puppy
from a show breeder for less than $650. Show quality gsds with good bloodlines start at $1200 easily for a puppy, upwards
for young adults. When you buy from a show breeder, usually you are buying a pet with a know history. The breeder has
titled their dog(s) and completed the required hip/eyes/heart/elbow certification standard in the breed.
If that seems like a lot of money to you, consider a rescued
german shepherd. I'd be more than happy to help you find your new best friend. Please see the links below, for more
information.
Please beware of scammer, that ask you to overpay for the puppy, offer
out of country sales or anything strange.
If you live within 3-4 hours of me, come and see the puppy. If not, I
can send videos, but I would prefer that you pick up the pup yourself, or make arrangements for me to drop it off.
I think it's important to meet with buyers, to form a relationship that will last thelife of the puppy and beyond. Somes a
phone call is more practical, then we can make shipping arrangements.
